Threshing has been done for as long as man has gathered grain for food. Threshing is the
separation of a grain from the stalk. It has always been a laborious time consuming chore. The use of the steam powered tractor eased the chore. The high price of a steam tractor prevented every farmer from having one, so the farmer lucky enough to own one was busier then a
June bug in a hen house at Harvest Time. Threshing time was shared by farmers for miles around, each exchanging labor so as to have help with their own crop. Every year at Old Fashion Harvest Days, "Threshing" is demonstrated as it used to be. Come out and join us for the excitement!
